Welcome to the Faith Lift Ministry at the University of Alberta. We’re glad to have you! Feel free to take a look around and learn a little more about what we do and who we are.
We offer community, leadership opportunities, inclusive social events and spiritual and emotional support for students.
Drop in to see Chaplain Denise in person for conversations with others on and around the topic of when I feel spiritual but not religious. Tuesdays 2-3 pm in HUB 169.
Denise is available in The Landing Wednesdays from 2-3 pm. Drop by and meet LGBTQ2SPIA + students in a safe space.
If you would like to talk to the Chaplain text or email Denise to set up a time to meet or talk on the phone or google chat that is convenient to your schedule. 780 906 8870 or firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
Our Vision: To create a spiritually inspired, creatively engaged world.
Our Mission: To provide open, inclusive opportunities and support for young adults to explore community connections, spirituality and personal well-being.
Any student, staff or faculty member at the University of Alberta is welcome to seek support from the Chaplain or to participate in programs offered by Faith Lift. This ministry is “Affirming”, which means that we welcome, support and are committed to making all of our activities, groups and services a safe space for LGBTQ+ people. We are also committed to advocating for the LGBTQ+ community in our own contexts.
The Chaplain is a member of the Inter Faith Chaplains’ Association at the University of Alberta.
Faith Lift Campus Ministry is sponsored by St Paul’s United Church Edmonton on behalf of the United Church of Canada. It is financially supported by individuals, congregations, groups, the Mission, Service Fund and Northern Spirit Region of the United Church of Canada. None of the chaplaincies are financially supported by the University of Alberta but we do have a memorandum of agreement with the University.
Volunteers from United Churches in Edmonton host meals on campus for Dinner With Friends. They also sit on the Advisory Team, which is accountable to St Paul’s U.C. Official Board. We are currently looking for several people to sit on the Advisory Committee from the Northern Spirit Region of the United Church.
